IN 2017, GROUND STABILISATION SYSTEMS WORKED WITH SYDNEY TRAINS TO INSTALL ROCKFALL BARRIERS AND KEEP THE RAILWAYS CLEAR.
Sydney Trains decided on rockfall barriers to mitigate any risks of large, isolated boulders breaking through the gaps in the existing trapezoidal shaped rock embankments.
GSS Installed 4 barriers spaced out over a 250m section of the track. The barriers were 3m high and were rated to 500kj. During a seven day period, GSS successfully installed the barriers without any interruption to the rail corridor.
