IN NOVEMBER 2018, GROUND STABILISATION SYSTEMS ASSISTED IN A ROCKFALL PROTECTION PROJECT IN THE BUNYA MOUNTAINS.
After a large storm event in late 2017, a very tall Bunya tree came down which created a chain reaction causing a rockfall. Due to this, one of the main walking boardwalks was taken out.
GSS were engaged to install a rockfall netting system along with a rock catch fence. After a design was implemented to protect the longevity of the access, GSS installed the systems successfully and ahead of schedule.
Queensland National Parks were extremely happy with the outcome.
