Niagara Reservoir is a 13mL, 37.2m diameter x 12.3m high prestressed concrete reservoir constructed in 1980. It is surrounded by sloping embankments and heavy vegetation. The upper rock strata is heavily vegetated and the lower strata is a weak deteriorating silestone.
On the upper area, GSS removed trees which were smaller than a 200mm girth and installed soil nails with a TRM.
On the lower weak seam, shotcrete was installed with drainage to prevent further weathering.
NSW Public Works were extremely happy with the outcome.
